Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo played a key role in the decision not to sign Lyon defender Joachim Andersen.
That’s according to The Express, who report that Andersen will be signing for another London club this summer in Crystal Palace.
It’s stated that Andersen came close to joining Tottenham after his representatives held ‘extensive talks’ with the club over a deal.
That was towards the end of his loan deal with Fulham earlier this year, but most of the interest seemed to come under Jose Mourinho.
Fabio Paratici came in as director of football and made it clear he wanted to make the final call on Andersen alongside whoever came in to replace Mourinho.
Nuno had his say, agreeing with Paratici that Tottenham should go for the likes of Jules Kounde or Cristian Romero instead of Andersen.

The Dane really impressed on loan at Fulham last season, emerging as a real leader despite their relegation whilst being called ‘top drawer’ by Tony Gale.
Tottenham are seemingly aiming higher than Andersen now, but Crystal Palace have swooped in and should secure his signature imminently.
A centre back pairing of Andersen and Marc Guehi sounds very promising for the Eagles, and Andersen will be hoping to prove Tottenham wrong for overlooking him.
