Spurs currently have Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga as number 1 and 2 but Michel Vorm left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of last term.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Schalke 04 goalkeeper Alexander Nubel but face competition from Premier League and London rivals Chelsea according to Kicker, via Calciomercato.
The 22-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Germany at the Under-21 European Championships, made the breakthrough in the Bundesliga club’s first team last term and made 22 appearances in all competitions, keeping seven clean sheets according to Transfermarkt.
Chelsea are said to be making a note of potential targets as they wait for updates on their impending transfer ban, having appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (The Telegraph), but should the ban stand, it would surely prove a critical blow, considering Nubel’s contract currently runs until 2020 (Transfermarkt).
At present, Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga are first and second choice at Tottenham and both are contracted until 2022, but Michel Vorm having left, plus Nubel being young and highly rated in his home country, he could potentially be one for the future.

The report, however, claims that Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also in the running for Nubel’s signature, and with his contract only running until next summer, there could well be a scramble for his services if the report is true – Transfermarkt’s latest valuation of the player, as of 5 June this year, is £10.8million.
Here is what some neutral fans on Twitter have made of Nubel’s performances, giving an insight into how highly he is rated:
