Rangers winger Barrie McKay is poised to leave Ibrox.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee of just £500,000 for Rangers winger Barrie McKay, and he is on the verge of completing his move to the City Ground.

Forest have already raided Scottish football once this summer by snapping up striker Jason Cummings from Hibernian, and manager Mark Warburton has done it again with McKay.

The 22-year-old winger had been struggling with Rangers following a 2011 move from Kilmarnock, but Warburton’s arrival as Rangers boss in 2015 changed McKay’s fortunes at Ibrox.

McKay notched nine goals in all competitions during the 2015-16 season as he played a starring role under Warburton, and whilst he blew hot and cold last season, he still found the next six times.

McKay has recently been sent to train with the Rangers Under-20’s though, having refused to sign a new contract with the Gers – and with just a year left on his contract, he has now been moved on.

The Daily Mail claim that Forest have agreed a £500,000 fee for McKay, meaning they have beaten Cardiff and two unnamed teams in the race to sign the Scottish wide man.

In January, the Daily Record reported that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig were eyeing a £6million raid for McKay, yet now he’s been sold for just £500,000.

That will be viewed as bad business for Rangers, but a potential bargain for Warburton, as he gets another chance to work with a talented young attacker who flourished under his tutelage in Glasgow.
