According to The Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest want to keep Newcastle United-owned midfielder Jack Colback.

Colback joined Championship club Forest on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Newcastle in the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at the Reds as well.

The former England Under-20 international has played well for Forest this campaign, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 38 Championship appearances for the Reds, according to WhoScored.

It has been reported that Forest want to keep Colback beyond the end of the season.

Nottingham Forest stay?

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez does not seem to fancy Colback, and it is hard to see the former Sunderland star re-establish himself at the Magpies under the ex-Liverpool boss.

Forest will be aiming to challenging for promotion from the Championship next season, and it does make sense for Colback to carry on playing at the City Ground.
