Nottingham Forest are reportedly already plotting a January move for Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon.

Puncheon’s days with the Eagles appear to be numbered. The Sun on Sunday reports that summer switches to Aston Villa and Middlesbrough collapsed in the last moments of the window and the 32-year-old is set to be allowed to leave when January arrives.
Puncheon is yet to play in the Premier League this term – his only appearance so far came in the League Cup victory over Swansea City – but it appears that Forest could be about to offer to rescue the midfielder.
Forest have made a disappointing start to the new Championship season. The club made a number of seriously exciting signings in the summer, but it appears that they have not quite been able to gel thus far, with just one win coming in their opening seven league games.

Saturday’s goalless draw with Swansea leaves them 15th in the table, but they now have three home games in a row which Karanka will be hoping proves to be the run that really ignites their season.
If they can get to January with even an outside chance of being in promotion contention – and it would be a huge surprise if they fell that far out of contention by then – signings like Puncheon could surely make a massive difference.
