Tiffoney has turned down a new deal at Morton and is reportedly being assessed by Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest have taken Scott Tiffoney on trial after the winger left Greenock Morton, according to the Daily Record (July 30 liveblog entry 16:38).
Tiffoney scored three goals and made another seven in 39 Scottish Championship appearances last season, but has opted not to extend his contract at Cappielow, as confirmed by Morton boss Ray McKinnon.
“Scott was offered the chance to come back to Morton before I took over,” McKinnon said, as quoted by the Daily Record. “He is exercising his right to try and find a new club.”
And it is claimed that Nottingham Forest could be Tiffoney’s next destination.
Despite having reached the end of his deal at Morton, the 19-year-old’s age means that Morton will be entitled to some compensation from Tiffoney’s next permanent employer.

Should that prove to be Forest then Tiffoney would have to fight Ben Brereton, Joe Lolley, Gil Dias and Diogo Gonçalves for a place in the first team.
It is therefore likely that the Morton academy product would begin his City Ground career in the under-23s.
Could Tiffoney prove a shrewd signing for Nottingham Forest?
