Nottingham Forest are reportedly still keen on Manchester City goalkeeper Aro Muric despite Martin O’Neill’s departure.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (30/6; page 59), Nottingham Forest still plan to pursue a deal for Aro Muric despite parting company with Martin O’Neill during the week.
Muric has been linked with a switch to the City Ground for much of the summer, but there may have been some concerns about the likelihood of a potential move when O’Neill’s departure was announced.
However, The Sun on Sunday (30/6; page 59) is hinting that new boss Sabri Lamouchi is just as keen to have the Kosovo international in his ranks for next season, with the report suggesting that Forest still want the 20-year-old despite changing the man in the dugout.
Muric appears to be a real talent, so it will please plenty of Forest fans that he appears to remain on the club’s radar this summer. He shone whenever he got a chance for Manchester City’s first-team last season.

It did not seem essential that Forest strengthened their goalkeeping ranks this summer. Costel Pantilimon came in for some criticism at times last season, but he is arguably still an incredibly good goalkeeper at Championship level.
If he does join, Muric will be expecting to play regularly during his time at the City Ground as he looks to catch Pep Guardiola’s eye. And it bodes well for him that Lamouchi is seemingly in favour of the club continuing their pursuit.
