Omar Bogle scores for Grimsby
According to the Grimsby Telegraph, Nottingham Forest have scouted Grimsby Town striker Omar Bogle on a number of occasions this season, with a view to a January bid for the player.
Bogle, 24, started his career with West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City, before moving on to join Celtic’s academy back in 2011, but he lasted less than a year in Glasgow before returning to English football.

After scoring three times in eight games for Hinckley Town, Bogle joined Solihull Moors and really made a name for himself in non-league football, smashing 66 goals in just 116 games to become hot property.
It was Grimsby who fended off major interest to sign Bogle in the summer of 2015, and his 13 league goals helped fire the Mariners back into the Football League.
This term, the pacy and powerful striker has made a huge impression, scoring eight times in just 11 games – and it seems that his exploits in front of goal are now attracting major interest from Championship clubs.

Monday’s edition of The Sun suggested that Wigan Athletic are keen on Bogle, but the Grimsby Telegraph understand that Nottingham Forest are showing a strong interest in signing Bogle in January.
Forest do have a number of strikers at their disposal in Britt Assombalonga, Apostolos Vellios and Nicklas Bendtner, but they would be smart to look for another one in case interest in Assombalonga hots up.

It’s claimed that Forest have scouted Bogle on a number of occasions this season, and the striker is believed to have impressed enough for Forest to strongly consider making a January bid for the striker.
With an impressive record in non-league football and in League Two so far, Bogle has proven that he can score goals, and deserves a chance to impress higher up the pyramid – but Grimsby are unlikely to sell without a fight.
