According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest are now ironing out the final details of a deal that would see Mohamed Drager come to the City Ground.
The 25-year-old Tunisia international has been a long-term target for Forest, being linked with a move earlier this year, and it seems as though the East Midlands outfit may now finally get their man.
Drager would be the latest in a long list of players signed from Olympiacos, and given Evangelos Marinakis’ links to the Greek giants, this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Chris Hughton’s side have gotten off to an awful start this season, losing four of their first five games, but a good deadline day could see the Tricky Trees turn their fortunes around.
Right-back is certainly a spot that needs bolstering for the Reds, Jordan Gabriel has just re-joined Blackpool, while Jordi Osei-Tutu is unproven at this level.
Drager has plenty of pedigree. He’s played Champions League football, he’s a league champion in Greece, while he’s also a regular international, even appearing at the African Cup of Nations with Tunisia.
It looks as though this one is close to being done, and we can only hope that this isn’t the only arrival we see on Trentside on deadline day.
