Nottingham Forest are in the market for a new striker.

Nottingham Forest have made signing a striker a priority, according to SkySports.

It was claimed yesterday by the Daily Mail that Forest have approach Watford over signing young forward Jerome Sinclair on loan, but they face competition from both Ipswich Town and Brentford, who are each higher in the table.

Caretaker boss Gary Brazil may not just going to be reliant on loan deals, with SkySports’ live transfer blog (25/01 18:37) reporting he has been given permission by owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi to strengthen the squad.

Forest’s desire to sign a new striker is indicative of a lack of consistency up top this season, with Britt Assombalonga still plagued by fitness struggles.

While he started against Leeds last night, the match was just his eighth start of the season, while free agent Nicklas Bendtner has failed to live up to the over-generous hype surrounding him.
