The Dane has struggled to have an impact at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest are considering the sale of Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, according to reports in Denmark.

It is being reported by BT that Forest are keen to sell the player. He is one of the club’s highest paid players and the recent failure of a takeover bid from America has seen them decide they might have to let Bendtner go.

The Dane has struggled since making the move to the City Ground. He has suffered with injury problems and his form when on the pitch has not been overly impressive, with fans of the club unimpressed.

With that in mind they are hoping to find a buyer or a loan club for his services by the time the transfer window shuts on Tuesday, as they look to trim their wage bill.

Bendtner, who joined the club as a free agent following his release from VfL Wolfsburg, has played 17 times for the club but managed just two goals in that time.

Forest might struggle to find themselves a buyer for the player, considering his current form and his previous history.

Bendtner will need to improve his game if he is to succeed at Forest should no exit materialise.
