Nottingham Forest are the latest Championship club, after Sunderland and Fulham, to be linked with a move for Norwich City’s top scorer.

Nottingham Forest have joined Sunderland and Fulham in the race to sign Norwich City striker Cameron Jerome, according to The Sun.

Forest, who sold top scorer Britt Assombalonga to Middlesbrough this week, appear keen to reinvest some of the £15 million they received for the 24-year-old.

And it is claimed the Reds are willing to offer £6 million to prise Jerome away from Norwich, for whom he scored 16 goals in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Canaries.

Norwich have already moved on several high earners this summer, however, and it remains to be seen whether they would be tempted to cash in on the 30-year-old, who has two years left on his deal at Carrow Road.

Sunderland and Fulham were linked with moves for Jerome last month, having lost strikers Jermain Defoe and Chris Martin respectively since the end of last season – although Sunderland have already moved to sign James Vaughan from Bury.

But Nottingham Forest’s recent windfall could put them in the driving seat for the Yorkshireman’s signature, were Norwich to cash in.
