Nottingham Forest apparently want to sign Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack.

According to BBC Nottingham, Nottingham Forest are trying to sign Ross McCormack from Aston Villa.

McCormack has fallen completely out of favour at Villa, and his future with the Midlands club is already in doubt.

Steve Bruce publicly criticised McCormack’s attitude, after he failed to turn up to Villa training.

And it is thought that the Scottish international could now leave Villa on loan, with Bruce keen to bring in another forward before deadline.

Forest have been alerted by McCormack’s potential availability, and feel he could enhance the quality of their forward line.

The potential to link McCormack and Britt Assombalonga up-front at the City Ground is certainly an exciting prospect, and would give Forest one of the most feared front lines in the Championship.

However, Forest are likely to have competition if they are to sign McCormack, with a host of other Championship clubs also interested.

Villa want to sign Brentford forward Scott Hogan, if they do allow McCormack to leave.
