Could Nottingham Forest bring a former player back to the club today?

According to Sky Sports News’ transfer centre at 8:41am, Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers.

The 31-year-old came through the ranks at Northampton Town before joining Forest for the first time in 2007.

He went on to make over 200 appearances for the club before making the move to Ipswich in 2012.

However, with his contract expiring at the end of the current campaign, he looks to be moving on now rather than being allowed to leave as a free agent in the summer.

Forest will know exactly what they are getting in Chambers, who can play at right-back or in the centre of defence, but with time running out in the current transfer window they will hope they can get a deal over the line prior to the cut-off point.

It could be a busy day at Forest, and their fans will be hoping they have some good news to celebrate in the next few hours.
