Kamil Grosicki is in talks over a loan move to Nottingham Forest from Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion on deadline day, according to Polish publication Meczyki.
There is no information at this stage about whether Grosicki is an alternative option to top target Anthony Knockaert, or whether he would arrive at the City Ground as well as the £15 million Fulham winger.
The fact that Knockaert is a left-footed right winger, while Grosicki prefers to cut inside from the opposite flank, suggests that the two deals are not necessarily inextricably linked.
There is no reason why a pair of proven Championship stars cannot play together as part of a new-look front three under Chris Hughton, potentially either side of silky targetman Lyle Taylor.
Forest have been linked with Grosicki since as far back as Martin O’Neill’s ill-fated tenure and, according to reports in Poland, the deal has been revisited in the final few hours of the transfer window.

The East Midland club have entered talks with West Brom.
Grosicki, who hasn’t played a second of Premier League football since promotion, would arrive on an initial loan deal.
If Hughton can emulate the promotions he secured in charge of Brighton and Newcastle, the 32-year-old would automatically be handed a permanent contract until 2023.
