Nottingham Forest have made a bid for Everton target and Burnley star Maxwel Cornet, according to The Times.

The Times have reported that Nottingham Forest, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship, have made an offer that is below Cornet’s £17.5 million buy-out clause.

Everton are also keen on securing the services of the 25-year-old winger, but the Toffees have made a loan move.

Burnley have turned down Everton’s bid and only want a permanent deal for Cornet, who can also play as a full-back, according to The Times.

Everton or Nottingham Forest for Maxwel Cornet?

In our view, Everton would be more appealing to Maxwel Cornet, who earns £44,000 per week as salary (SalarySport), than Nottingham Forest.

Yes, the Toffees were in danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, but we know that they are an established and historic club in the Premier League.

Everton are also hugely ambitious, and the chance to work with manager Frank Lampard could be very tempting for Cornet.

True, Nottingham Forest themselves are a big club who are former European champions, but they have only just come back to the Premier League and could fight for survival in the English top flight next season.

Cornet made 21 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Burnley last season.

The Ivory Coast international scored nine goals and gave one assist in those matches.
