Nottingham Forest reportedly want Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest have had a bid of £8 million for Middlesbrough forward Patrick Bamford rejected, according to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 23:09pm, Saturday, June 23, 2018).

The report, though, has claimed that Forest are zeroing in on the 24-year-old former Chelsea forward.

Good signing for Nottingham Forest?

Bamford is proven at the Championship level, and having worked with current Forest manager Aitor Karanka at Middlesbrough, the forward would indeed be a good signing for the Reds.

The 24-year-old knows the Championship well, and with Forest aiming to finish in the playoffs next season, signing the Boro forward would be a great boost to their chances of winning promotion to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough, though, may not be willing to part company with Bamford and especially sell him to a club who would be their direct challengers for the playoffs.

Bamford, who started his professional club football career at Forest before moving to Chelsea in 2012, who joined Middlesbrough from Chelsea in January 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £6 million when Karanka was in charge of Boro.
