Report: Nottingham Forest eyeing loan move for Liverpool gem Ben Doak

According to a report by Nottinghamshire Live, Nottingham Forest are interested in a loan move for Ben Doak.

A loan switch for Doak has piqued Forest’s interest

Further details suggest that BBC Sport Scotland’s commentary team had pointed out that Forest’s scouts were in attendance during Liverpool’s dramatic win on penalties against Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

The 17-year-old, who has been compared to none other than Mohamed Salah by Scottish football expert Owen Brown via Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast impressed during the Reds’ recent victory.

The report also mentions that Steve Cooper’s side will be active in the January transfer window, naturally considering they are currently languishing in the relegation zone at 18th place in the Premier League.

With Doak’s ability to dazzle on the wing, as well at right-back, the ex-Celtic youth product could prove to be an astute addition, albeit on a temporary basis.

Considering the Scottish Under-21 international is a creative player, his development would bear fruit at a side that dominate possession and play a more progressive brand of football in comparison to Forest.

Nottingham Forest, who are yet to find their feet in the English top-flight will also be in a relegation dogfight come the second half of the season.

For a teenager to be pressured to step up in such trying times may not prove to be the most sensible decision, especially in a division as challenging to adapt to as the Premier League
