Nottingham Forest boss Martin O’Neill reportedly wants to sign Kamil Grosicki this summer, but the club are also planning to sell a number of players.
According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (26/5; page 69), Martin O’Neill wants Nottingham Forest to make a £2.5 million bid for Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki, but he must also look to get rid of as many as 12 players this summer.
Forest may be underwhelmed with their campaign. They had been seventh when Aitor Karanka left the City Ground in January, and ultimately finished ninth in the Championship, but only after winning their final three games.
It looks set to be a vital summer for O’Neill as he looks to win his doubters over. The Sun on Sunday (26/5; page 69) reports that Forest are looking to move on up to 12 players to balance the books.
But the report adds that O’Neill is also keen for Forest to make a £2.5 million bid for the Tigers attacker, who enjoyed an outstanding year with Nigel Adkins’ men.
The Poland international scored nine goals and contributed 12 assists in the league, so it would be little surprise if Hull have little interest in letting the 30-year-old leave the KCOM Stadium this summer as they look to build on their own mid-table finish.
Having scored 18 times across his two seasons in the Championship, he could prove to be a shrewd addition to Forest’s squad if O’Neill manages to get his target through the door.
