Kamil Grosicki is set to join Nottingham Forest from West Bromwich Albion as the Baggies continue negotiations with Huddersfield Town over Karlan Grant, according to the Birmingham Mail.
In an ideal world, Slaven Bilic would be free to put his feet up on deadline day and begin dissecting Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Southampton.
Instead, he and Luke Dowling are hard at work looking to complete a number of deals.
Of course, if it’s Grant that West Brom want, they have a little longer to tie things up.
Premier League clubs can negotiate with Championship teams until 16 October, which means Grant could still end up in the Midlands even if he’s still a Huddersfield player by the time the clock strikes midnight tonight.
Grant, who is Bilic’s top striker target, has already been the subject of a £16 million bid from West Brom with The Terriers demanding closer to £18 million (Birmingham Mail).

If the former Charlton Athletic forward does eventually arrive, expect to see Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore depart. Neither Austin nor Zohore have featured in the Premier League so far and could both return to the Championship, with goal-shy Derby County targeting the former.
The report adds that Grosicki, the Poland international who only joined West Brom from Hull City in January, could also be heading to England’s second tier.
The Baggies are selling him to Greek champions Olympiakos in an £800,000 deal. Grosicki, however, is expected to join Nottingham Forest on loan with shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis in control of both clubs.
Forest have wanted Grosicki since summer 2019, when Martin O’Neill was still in charge. The Sun (26 May, page 69) reported at the time they were willing to pay £2.5 million.
