Nottingham Forest have been linked with Dean Henderson for quite some time, and now, it looks as though the Manchester United goalkeeper is on the verge of joining the Tricky Trees on loan.
Indeed, according to The Athletic, a deal to bring Henderson in on loan is done, and an announcement has been pencilled in for Friday.
Forest have, of course, already signed Taiwo Awoniyi this summer, and now, Henderson could be announced as their second summer signing in the coming hours.
To some, it may be baffling to see that Forest are on Henderson’s trail. After all, Brice Samba was one of the most important players in Steve Cooper’s team last season, but with the Congolese goalkeeper making no secret of his desire to leave the East Midlands this summer, a replacement is needed – and what a replacement Forest are getting.
Indeed, Henderson is an incredibly talented goalkeeper. He has experience playing for newly-promoted teams before – starring for Sheffield United in 2019/20, while he’s also an England international.
There’s no doubt about it, Henderson will single-handedly win Forest a number of points this season, and while he may not be a fan favourite in the same way Samba is, it may not take long for him to carve out his own legacy on the banks of the Trent.
A Friday announcement has been pencilled in, but, as ever, that could be subject to change.
