Nottingham Forest are reportedly keen on signing the Benfica youngster.

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Benfica ace Diogo Gonçalves this summer, as Aitor Karanka looks to build a squad who are capable of earning promotion back to the Premier League next season.
Forest finished in 17th position in the Championship table last term, so much improvement will be needed at the City Ground next time around, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of returning to the promised land.
A Bola claim that the Reds have identified Gonçalves, 21, as the ideal summer addition to their squad, with more creativity and guile required in the final third.

Good signing for Forest?
The simple answer is yes.
The 21-year-old winger is an exciting prospect to say the least, and he has the potential to go on and become a real top player.
He has already earned seven caps for Portugal’s under-21 side, scoring six goals in the process, and the quality that he possesses would add so much to the way in which Forest play.

In 118 appearances for Benfica’s youth and senior sides, Gonçalves has chalked up 27 goals and 19 assists, and that kind of attacking output could make all the difference for the east Midlands outfit next season.
According to Transfer Markt, he is valued at £2.7 million, and in today’s day and age, that would represent an absolute steal for Forest.
