Nottingham Forest are confident that they will sign Liverpool right-back Neco Williams to replace Djed Spence, who is on his way to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to 90min.

90min are reporting today that Forest are confident of beating Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford to the signature of Liverpool right-back Williams, described as “outstanding” by his Anfield teammate and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the club’s official website in December 2021.

Forest, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship, wanted to make Spence’s loan deal from Middlesbrough permanent this summer.

The youngster spent last season on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough and helped the Reds win promotion to the Premier League.

However, according to 90min as well as The London Evening Standard, the 21-year-old, who can operate as a right-back, right wing-back or right winger, is set to move to Tottenham.

Neco Williams from Liverpool to Nottingham Forest makes sense

In our view, Liverpool, right-back Neco Williams would be a good signing for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old is a very good right-back who is a regular for Wales and will play for his country at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

The youngster himself could be tempted to move to Forest and play regularly for the former European champions.

After all, at Liverpool, Williams has Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him in the pecking order at right-back.
