Nottingham Forest are one of several Championship sides reportedly interested in signing John Bostock this summer.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (21/7; page 61), Nottingham Forest are interested in signing John Bostock this summer, but Sabri Lamouchi’s side face competition from two of their Championship rivals.

Bostock has become something of a journeyman since leaving Tottenham in 2013. He has spent time in Belgium, France and Turkey, but he has fought back superbly after his struggles with Spurs and spent last season with Toulouse in Ligue 1.

The Sun on Sunday (21/7; page 61) reports that the 27-year-old is open to returning to England this summer, and Forest have been in contact with his current side regarding a potential switch to the City Ground.

The report adds however, that both Brentford and Reading are interested in Bostock, who made 16 appearances in the French top flight last season, including 10 starts.

One of those starts actually came against Rennes when Lamouchi was in charge of the Red and Blacks. The game would end in a 1-1 draw with Bostock being replaced after 76 minutes.

Forest will be hoping to make the midfielder their seventh signing of the summer, but Brentford, in particular, may provide interesting competition given that they know all about taking gambles on players from France and helping them realise their full potential having turned Neal Maupay into one of the most lethal strikers in the division.
