Nottingham Forest’s Danny Fox has been linked with Wigan Athletic.

According to a report in the Wigan Post, Wigan Athletic manager Paul Cook hasn’t given up hope of signing Nottingham Forest’s Danny Fox as they look set to table a second offer for the defender.
The Wigan Post claim the Latics have already seen one bid turned down for the Scotland international, but they will go back in with an improved offer as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.
Wigan have lost Dan Burn to Brighton and Hove Albion this month, therefore manager Paul Cook has called upon a new defender as his top priority this month and Fox is seemingly at the top of his list.
The Forest defender was predominantly a left-back in his earlier years but during Aitor Karanka’s spell at the City Ground he has oved into the middle, performing above expectations.

Fox, 32, has started 18 championship games this season, averaging 6.4 tackles per game (Whoscored). His contract with the Reds expires at the end of the campaign.
Karanka’s exit last week and Martin O’Neill’s arrival as his successor may place question marks over Fox’s future at the City Ground with the player battling Toby Figueiredo, Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele for starts.
Wigan started the campaign well, but just two wins in their last 14 games now sees the Lancashire side in the Championship’s bottom six and just six points above the relegation zone.
