Nottingham Forest is still an option for Kieffer Moore, although the Wigan Athletic striker appears to be on his way to Championship rivals Cardiff City, according to the Mail.
If Sabri Lamouchi’s side are to ‘do a Leeds’ and recover from a dramatic collapse to seal promotion one year later, then attacking reinforcements are an absolute must.
In Lewis Grabban, one of the hottest strikers in the Football League is plying his trade in Garibaldi red.
But while Grabban hit the net 20 times in the second tier, no other player in Lamouchi’s squad reached double figures.
Nuno da Costa, the striker signed during an underwhelming January recruitment drive, actually scored more in his own net than he did in the oppositions’.
Bringing in Moore from relegated Wigan, then, could prove to be an inspired piece of business.

It is no secret that Forest have been looking for an old-school targetman and, after being linked with Lukas Jutciewicz, Guillaume Hoarau and Connor Wickham earlier in 2020, the 6ft 5ins Wales international ticks a lot of boxes.
The Mail reports that, while Moore is expected to undergo a medical at Cardiff after the Bluebirds had a £2.1 million bid accepted, Nottingham Forest are still in the race as things stand.
Forest made a bid of their own and, as the report adds, Moore has narrowed his interest down to three clubs – the East Midland giants, Middlesbrough and Cardiff.
It would take a dramatic turnaround at this stage, however, for Forest to snap him up from under Neil Harris’s nose.
