Nottingham Forest are battling Championship rivals Swansea City, Norwich and Reading to bring Jorge Grant back to the City Ground from Lincoln City, as reported by TEAMtalk.

While the two-time European champions are perched tentatively over the Championship drop zone, a host of former players, including Patrick Bamford, Karl Darlow, Matty Cash and Jamaal Lascelles, continue to thrive in the Premier League.
So perhaps that’s why Nottingham Forest want to re-sign Grant?
Perhaps they feel that by acting now they can avoid a situation where the gifted midfielder joins a team such as Norwich, Reading or Swansea and ends up celebrating promotion at a direct Championship rival in May.
26-year-old Grant rose through the ranks in Forest’s famous Nigel Doughty academy but made just 17 league appearances before joining Lincoln in June last year.
But, according to TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are watching his developments closely at Sincil Bank and, after an impressive start to the League One season, could offer him a second chance at the City Ground.
Grant has produced eight goals and six assists in 17 games from midfield. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, remain one of the Championship’s lowest scorers despite securing a much-needed 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
“He wants to break into the squad, force his way into the plans and I am delighted with the way he adapted to that loan,” former Forest boss Mark Warburton said of a young Grant in 2017.
“He has gone out on loan for a reason and has responded well to it. Well done to him.”
