Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers have reportedly had bids for Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna rejected.

According to a report from the Daily Record, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers have both seen bids for Scott McKenna rejected by Aberdeen as the Scottish Premiership side look to hold onto one of their biggest stars.

McKenna has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the division over the last two seasons. It will have come as no surprise to Derek McInnes therefore, that he has attracted plenty of attention.

The Daily Record notes that both Aston Villa and Celtic wanted the 22-year-old last summer, while Hull City have returned to the race having made four bids for the defender during the January transfer window.

The Record adds that both Forest and QPR – managed by former Rangers boss Mark Warburton – have confirmed their interest with bids around the £3 million mark. However, those offers have been rejected by the Dons, who tied McKenna down to a long-term deal earlier in the year.

The Scottish Sun reported last month that Celtic had a £5 million bid for McKenna rejected this summer, with Aberdeen demanding £10 million.

So it would appear that both Forest and their Championship rivals will have to make a significantly better offer if they hope to get a deal done before the window closes. Aberdeen are in a strong position, so QPR and Sabri Lamouchi’s men will have to pull something special out the bag to land their target.
