Nottingham Forest may be about to complete a deal for a famous footballing name – as they make a move for Benfica midfielder Pele.

Of course, this is not the Brazilian legend but the 25-year-old Portuguese star.

Zero Zero report that Forest are in talks to add Pele to their squad, in the same way they have signed former Wolves loanee Joao Teixeira this week from the same club.

He joined Benfica in 2015 but has not played for the club yet, spending last season on loan at Pacos Ferreira and only just recovering from foot surgery.

He does however have an illustrious history. He spent four years on the books at AC Milan, although never made an impact on the first-team.

Forest however would clearly be hoping they get the midfielder who starred for Pacos Ferreira in the 2015-16 season.

Nottingham Forest are looking to improve their team after a difficult season so far, with a relegation fight still a definite possibility for the club who are still seeking new management.

Pele may not be the final piece of that jigsaw, but additions will be welcomed at the City Ground.
