Nottingham Forest have agreed with Malmo to sign midfielder Fouad Bachirou in a £600,000 deal, according to Swiss publication Expressen.
While the 30-year-old Comoros international is far from a household name in the East Midlands, there should be absolutely no one of a Forest persuasion doubting his credentials.
After all, Forest’s recruitment team pulled off a couple of brilliant pieces of business this time last year as hitherto unknowns Brice Samba, Thiago Silva and Yuri Ribeiro arrived at the City Ground on bargain deals.
Bachirou, then, deserves the benefit of the doubt as he packs his bags and heads to England in double-quick time.
Expressen claims that the Molde veteran has played his final game for the Norwegian giants with Forest agreeing a deal that will see him join Sabri Lamouchi’s squad for just £600,000.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Bachirou could replace the departed Alfa Semedo in Garibaldi red.
There are also doubts about the short-term future of Ben Watson, the 35-year-old veteran who has been reborn under Lamouchi to become the brains of a solid and tight-knit Forest side.
Expressen adds that Bachirou should fly to England for a medical within the next few days.
