Norwich City and Ipswich Town are reportedly set to battle for Tom Adeyemi.
Tom Adeyemi
According to the Sheffield Star, Norwich City are interested in re-signing midfielder Tom Adeyemi – but local rivals Ipswich Town actually lead the race for his signature.
Adeyemi, 25, joined Cardiff City from Birmingham City in 2014, but after making 23 appearances in his first season with the Bluebirds, he has been cast aside in South Wales.
The midfielder spent last season on loan with Leeds United, before moving on to Rotherham United on loan this term, serving as one of their few shining lights in a relegation campaign.
Adeyemi has notched seven goals and two assists in 30 appearances in all competitions this season, and with his contract set to expire this summer, a real fight for his services could be on the cards.

The Sheffield Star report that Ipswich Town are currently leading the race for Adeyemi’s signature, but Norwich City are believed to be keen on battling their fierce rivals to land him.
Adeyemi, who was born in Norwich, came up through the ranks with the Canaries having joined the club way back in 2000, but left for Birmingham in 2013 after just 17 appearances for Norwich.

Now, with new sporting director Stuart Webber calling the shots until a new manager is appointed, it’s believed that Norwich want to bring Adeyemi back to Carrow Road on a free transfer this summer.
An athletic central midfielder, Adeyemi has impressed this term and should have a number of offers on the table, but Norwich may have to outbid rivals Ipswich to re-sign him this summer.
