Norwich City, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are the latest clubs linked with the Wigan Athletic midfielder.

Norwich City, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are the latest clubs to be credited with interest in Nick Powell. According to Teamtalk, Norwich, Derby and Wednesday – along with Celtic, Rangers, Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion – are all keen to offer the Wigan Athletic midfielder a contract at the end of his deal this summer.
And the website states that he is likely to snub a quartet of overseas clubs – RB Leipzig, Borussia Monchengladbach (both of whom are said to have made approaches for Powell), Fenerbahce and Besiktas – to stay in the United Kingdom.
It adds, however, that the 25-year-old is still weighing up his options and has yet to decide on his next move.
Promotion required for Derby and Sheffield Wednesday?
Given the lengthy list of alleged top division suitors – which may also include Norwich in the coming weeks – both Derby and Sheffield Wednesday could face an uphill battle to land Powell, unless either are able to gatecrash the play-offs and gain promotion themselves.

Wednesday, though, may have an ace up their sleeve in the shape of their manager, Steve Bruce, Powell’s manager at Hull City who remains a huge fan, according to Teamtalk.
