Report: Norwich City want Sheffield Wednesday’s Jordan Rhodes, feel they can get him for a cut-price

Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes is said to be on the wishlist of Norwich City.

According to the Daily Mirror’s live transfer blog (08:55), Norwich City have made Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes their top target, as they look to spend the money raised for James Maddison.

Norwich brought in a large fee for Maddison from Leicester City earlier this week, and now need to find a way to replace the goals that the attacking midfielder provided.

The Canaries have reportedly immediately targeted a front man, and Wednesday striker Rhodes is said to be at the top of their wishlist.

Rhodes has been a prolific scorer at Championship level previously, but ever since signing for Wednesday for £10 million last summer (Mirror) he has struggled.

Norwich now believe that Rhodes could be available on a cut-price deal, as Wednesday are under pressure to sell.

The Owls need to raise funds to comply with Financial Fair Play instructions, and Norwich are hoping to get Rhodes cheaply.

The Mirror claim that the Wednesday’s striker’s wages could be an issue, although Norwich are hopeful of finding a way to agree a contract with the 28-year-old.
