Norwich City have brought in three players from Germany already this summer and Hanne Behrens could be the fourth to join up with Daniel Farke.
The German revolution looks set to continue at Norwich City. After the appointment of former Borussia Dortmund youth coach Daniel Farke, The Canaries have already brought in Marcel Franke, Mario Vranjic and Christoph Zimmerman this summer.
Carrow Road could welcome a fourth player from Germany this summer
The 27-year-old is a nominally defensive player renowned for his ball winning abilities and pragmatic approach in the centre of the park. Yet, he still chipped in with two goals and five assists in an impressive individual campaign though Nurnburg finished a disappointing 12th in the table.
As such, his performances appear to have piqued Norwich’s interest and The Canaries could certainly do with more tenacity in the centre of the park following the summer departures of Jonny Howson, Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu.
And Behrens himself admitted to Bild that he has been the subject of interest from English clubs. Furthermore, the fact he has just a year remaining on his contract should give Norwich hope that they can land the former Hamburg youngster for a fraction of his market value.
Norwich’s Director of Football, Stuart Webber, utilised the German market excellently during his role as Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football Operations last season.
The likes of Elias Kachunga, Christopher Schindler and Michael Hefele arrived on bargain fees and made a huge impact as Huddersfield defied the pre-season predictions and earned promotion to the Premier League.
Like Farke, Huddersfield coach David Wagner earned his coaching stripes at Dortmund
And it appears Webber is trying to replicate that blueprint at Norwich.
