Aston Villa are set to sign Fulham’s Ross McCormack, meaning Norwich City could go after Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Norwich City are set to step up their chase of Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga.
Norwich had looked set to sign Fulham striker Ross McCormack, but their plans have been scuppered by Aston Villa.
Villa have outbidded Norwich for McCormack, and Alex Neill’s side are now set to look elsewhere.

Norwich have already made one bid for Forest’s Assombalonga, and they apparently could make a repeat offer in the near future.
The Canaries’ first offer for Assombalonga was worth £7 million, and it was quickly rebuffed by Forest.

However, Norwich have money to spend this summer – and they could raise their offer in the near future.
Forest are understood to be keen to keep hold of Assombalonga, but he is a very valuable commodity.
Assombalonga missed much of last season with injury, but his goalscoring record for Forest is highly impressive, and he is considered a key player at the City Ground.
