Norwich City, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday are all being credited with interest in Palmer.
Norwich City have ‘made a move’ to sign Chelsea’s Kasey Palmer – who has also attracted interest from Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday – on loan, according to the Daily Mirror [live blog entry 18:10].
The attacking midfielder recently returned to Stamford Bridge following a loan spell at Huddersfield Town, whom he helped to promotion during a season-long stay at the Kirklees Stadium last term.
Ironically, Huddersfield turned to Norwich’s Alex Pritchard after Palmer’s departure, and the Canaries could now replace the attacking midfielder with Palmer, who scored four goals and created another three in 16 Championship starts for the Terriers.
The Daily Mirror reported on Saturday that Birmingham were favourites to sign the 21-year-old, ahead of Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
When asked about his side’s interest in Palmer earlier, however, Blues boss Steve Cotterill delivered a pessimistic response.
“He is a good player Kasey, he is a good player but I don’t think it will happen,” Cotterill told the Birmingham Mail.
And it would appear as though Norwich are now the ones in command, after their alleged approach.
