Norwich City are looking at Michael O’Neill in case their plan to appoint Uwe Rosler fails, according to the Sun on Sunday (30 April, page 61).
The Canaries have been without a permanent manager since Alex Neil’s sacking in March, and are said to have earmarked Fleetwood’s Rosler as their number one target.
However the German, who was previously courted by Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber at Huddersfield Town, is currently on course to lead the Trawlermen into the Championship via the this season’s League One play-offs.
And it is claimed his appointment could be an ‘expensive operation’ for Norwich, with Rosler likely to want assistant boss Rob Kelly to join him at Carrow Road.

The report adds that O’Neill could be tempted by a move to the Championship side, although he is also unlikely to come cheap at this stage in Northern Ireland’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
The 47-year-old previously managed Brechin City and Shamrock Rovers before taking charge of the Green and White Army six years ago.
Last season’s European Championship appearance was their first in a major tournament since 1982 and culminated in a last-16 finish.
