Filip Krovinovic is apparently on his way to the Premier League as Norwich City identify a David Turnbull alternative.
Norwich City are closing in on a deal to sign Filip Krovinovic from Portuguese champions Benfica, according to Record.
The Canaries have made just one new addition since winning the Championship title in May, snapping up Patrick Roberts on a temporary deal from Premier League giants Manchester City.
Norwich were expected to announce the signing of 16-goal Motherwell star David Turnbull today but, according to the Glasgow Evening Times, the deal is now off with the teenager heading to Celtic instead.
Daniel Farke’s side appear to have identified an alternative at breakneck speed, however, with Record claiming that Krovinovic is heading to Carrow Road.
Like Turnbull, the 23-year-old Croatian is a creative attacking midfielder who can also play as a second striker. He is renowned for his finishing ability and excellent dribbling skills too, although his role in Benfica’s Primeira Liga triumph was very limited.
Krovinovic made just four substitute appearances, totalling 36 minutes.
Though a loan move to Norwich could be exactly what the youngster needs, given that Farke has worked wonders with other young talents such as Onel Hernandez, Jamal Lewis and Max Aarons.
