Norwich City and Swansea City are interested in signing Danny Ward from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 68, June 3, 2018).

Both Norwich and Swansea will play in the Championship next season, with the Swans having been relegated from the Premier League this past campaign.

Exit likely

Ward has been on the books of Liverpool since January 2012 when he joined from Wrexham for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £100,000.

Signed by then Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has made only a handful of appearances for the Liverpool first team since his switch to Anfield.

Although current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp rates him highly – he told the club’s official website in January 2018 that Ward has “a lot of potential” – it is hard to see the Wales international establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Anfield next season.

It would be best for Ward if he joins Norwich or Swansea in the summer transfer window, perhaps on a season-long loan deal.
