Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in Sofyan Amrabat but the Fiorentina star just isn’t interested.

Sofyan Amrabat not keen on Liverpool or Tottenham

This is according to a report from Foot Mercato in France, who claim that Liverpool and Spurs still fancy Amrabat.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham were heavily linked with Amrabat following his World Cup displays.

Amrabat became one of the surprises of the World Cup, proving to be the heartbeat of the Morocco side.

Fiorentina refused to let Amrabat go in January but the interest hasn’t gone away.

It’s suggested that Liverpool and Tottenham ‘have not said their last word’ in the race for Amrabat.

Paris Saint-Germain have also looked into signing Amrabat in recent weeks, but he isn’t interested in any of them.

Amrabat has his heart set on joining Barcelona, with the Camp Nou seemingly his dream move.

Liverpool and Tottenham should avoid Amrabat anyway

We can understand the interest in Amrabat after his World Cup performances.

The plaudits were rolling in for Amrabat and intermediary agent Alberto Maria Fontana told Tuttomercatoweb that he is simply ‘incredible’.

Amrabat was so combative and played with great heart in the Morocco midfield, which may well suit the Premier League.

However, Amrabat feels like a case of a player having a great World Cup and not reaching those heights before or since.

Amrabat has been a solid if unspectacular player for Fiorentina – maybe not the player to take Liverpool or Tottenham to another level.

There are other defensive midfielders out there for Liverpool if they want to bring in new competition for Fabinho.

As for Tottenham, a defensively-minded midfielder maybe isn’t as much of a priority as a more forward-thinking one.

Amrabat may well land his move to Barcelona, but we don’t think this is a huge miss for Liverpool or Spurs.
