Nottingham Forest’s Nicklas Bendtner receives medical attention
Nottingham Forest fans have been given a boost today with confirmation that Danish striker Nikclas Bendtner has not suffered a leg break.
Forest ran out comfortable 3-1 winners against Birmingham City in the Championship on Friday night in a game in which Bendtner looked to be getting back to his best.
But he fell awkwardly after an aerial challenge with Michael Morrison of Birmingham and immediately grabbed hold if his lower leg in agony. He left the field on a stretcher with gas and air, with many fearing he may have suffered an ankle break that would leave him on the sidelines for a number of months.

However, the Nottingham Post has reported today that Bendtner has not suffered a break after an initial scan confirmed as much this week.
The fear of course remains that he may have severe ligament damage, especially considering the way in which he went down after suffering the injury.
Forest have been short of strikers this season, especially with Britt Assombalonga struggling with injury again. But he is back in training and it appears Bendtner’s injury may not be as bad as first feared. Luck might be changing slightly at the City Ground.
