Arsenal did not receive a single bid for Alexandre Lacazette during the summer transfer window and are yet to open talks over a new contract with the France international, according to Football London.
While one Gunners striker did put pen to paper on a new deal, it remains to be seen whether the Premier League high-flyers will afford Lacazette the same faith they showed to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabonese goal-machine remains as lethal and consistent as ever. But those are two adjectives that cannot always be used to describe his strike partner; a man Arsene Wenger paid £46.5 million for three years ago.
Lacazette has found the net three times in three league games in 2020/21. But he found himself stuck on the bench during Sunday’s clash with Sheffield United after missing two glorious chances during the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool six days earlier.
The former Lyon talisman will be 30 by the time the season ends.

And, with just two years left on his contract, his short-term future remains uncertain. Especially with Football London claiming that Arsenal are yet to open talks over a new deal.
Lacazette was linked with Atletico Madrid and Juventus over the summer but no bids were forthcoming from across Europe.
FL adds that technical director Edu is keeping a close eye on two of the continent’s most exciting young forwards – Celtic hero Odsonne Edouard and Salzburg’s latest fresh-faced sensation Patson Daka.
Could this suggest that Lacazette’s days are numbered at the Emirates?
