Fulham are reportedly keen on Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic may be prepared to sell midfielder Nir Bitton this month once Ivorian youngster Kouassi Eboue completes his move to the club.

The Bhoys are set to clinch a £2.8million deal to sign Krasnodar teenager Eboue, with the 19-year-old arriving to give manager Brendan Rodgers another option in midfield.

However, Eboue’s imminent arrival – subject to a work permit being granted – leaves Nir Bitton in a trick situation at Celtic Park, with reports now suggesting that he could leave this month.

The Scottish Sun report that Bitton, 25, could be heading to England during this month’s transfer window, with Fulham keen to reunite him with former Celtic team-mate Stefan Johansen.

The Israeli international has been a regular for the Bhoys since his 2013 move from FC Ashdod, and his performances had made him one of the top players in Scottish football, with the Glasgow Evening Times reporting in 2015 that Arsenal were watching him.

This season though, Bitton has found first-team football harder to come by with new manager Rodgers at the helm. Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong, Tom Rogic and even Callum McGregor appear to be ahead of Bitton in the pecking order, and Eboue’s arrival will only hamper his chances of playing.

It’s now claimed that Bitton could leave for just £2million this month, with Rodgers looking for another midfielder even once Eboue’s move is done, and Fulham could be his destination.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic allegedly watched Bitton when he was looking to bring in Stefan Johansen, and having landed the Norwegian, he could now return to Glasgow to snap up Bitton too.

Bitton is allegedly good friends with Johansen, making a London reunion somewhat appealing to the Celtic midfielder, and Rodgers is unlikely to stand in his way given the other midfield options at his disposal.
