Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton does not want to leave Glasgow during the January transfer window.

According to a report in the Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton is eager not to leave Parkhead in January.

Bitton has been linked with a move to Fulham and Espanyol in recent times, with his first-team chances seemingly limited.

However, the Israeli international is keen to stay and fight for his place in Brendan Rodgers’ line-up.

Bitton appeared to have a big role to play when Brendan Rodgers first took over at Celtic, but he has gradually fallen out of favour.

The 25-year-old has barely featured in the last two months of the season, with many players now ahead of him in the Bhoys’ pecking order.

Celtic have also added Kouassi Eboue in the January transfer window, meaning competition for places in central midfielder is only set to get more fierce.

Bitton has previously shown flashes of quality at Celtic, but Rodgers appears to have some doubts over utilising him.

Celtic are next in action on 22nd January, when they take on Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup.
