Wolves are still looking for their new manager after parting company with Walter Zenga.
A report in the Express and Star has claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers have compiled a five-man shortlist in the search for Walter Zenga’s successor, and that Nigel Pearson has been handed a second interview by the club.
The former Leicester boss has been out of work since leaving Derby County earlier in the month, but the Express and Star hints that he may be in the driving seat for the role as he has met with the Wolves hierarchy for a second time.

However, the Championship club are keeping their options open. The Express and Star reports that former Wolves midfielder Paul Ince is set to be interviewed this week, while current caretaker Rob Edwards, Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood are also included on Fosun’s shortlist.
The Express and Star adds that the club will not rush into naming Zenga’s successor, and that it is likely that an announcement will come in the days after Saturday’s game with Pearson’s former side Derby.
Paul Ince is set to be interviewed in the coming days
Given Ince and Edwards’ history with the club, they may perhaps be more popular appointments than Pearson would be, especially if the latter leads the side to a positive result against the Rams.
However, while Sherwood’s lack of experience in the second tier would make him something of a wildcard, Pearson and Lambert both boast experience of achieving success in the Championship.
Pearson took Leicester up to the Premier League in 2014, while Lambert guided Norwich to successive promotions and then to safety in the top flight and subsequently kept the sinking Aston Villa ship afloat for a decent period of time.
