According to Bild, Stuttgart are ready to sell striker Nicolas Gonzalez for €20million (£17.8million) in January after talks with Leeds United.

It’s claimed that Stuttgart don’t want to lose Gonzalez or midfielder Orel Mangala, but would be allowed to leave in January if their asking price is met.

Around €20million is wanted for each player, and the news about Gonzalez may be of interest to Leeds United.

Leeds were strongly linked with a deal to sign Gonzalez over the summer, with Marcelo Bielsa keen to sign his fellow Argentinian.

The Guardian reported that Leeds were in talks over a deal worth at least £15million for Gonzalez, and faced competition from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Leeds ended up signing Rodrigo from Valencia instead, though if Bielsa sees the Spaniard as a number 10 moving forward, don’t rule out a new move for Gonzalez.

The 22-year-old has bagged two goals and one assist in four games for Stuttgart this season, having smashed 15 goals and four assists last term.

The price tag is similar to the summer demands, and if Leeds still fancy another striker to rival Patrick Bamford, then Gonzalez could be an option again.
