Arsenal’s and Newcastle United’s plans to sign Luka Jovic from Real Madrid could be scuppered by Monaco’s new boss Niko Kovac, according to BILD.
Newly appointed Kovac has reportedly made the Real Madrid striker his top target at the French principality club, with could complicate matters for Arsenal and Newcastle.
PianetaMilan have claimed that Arsenal are ready to offer Jovic a big money contract, while 90 Minutes said that Newcastle were interested back in April.
Newcastle would likely need their new owners to be approved before having the finances to go after Jovic, but it seems that a deal could be struck before that happens.
The Serbian forward could be a Monaco player before long if Kovac gets his wish.

Jovic has struggled badly since a £52 million move to Madrid (Daily Mail), but he has previously proven a lethal finisher at Benfica.
His arrival at Arsenal or Newcastle would have significantly improved both the Premier League side’s strike-forces.
But it seems that the English duo could now be forced to look at other attacking targets, with Monaco set to step up their chase.
