Newcastle United are reportedly keen on the French goalkeeper.

According to France Football, Newcastle United are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola this summer.
The French publication states that Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been a big fan of the 25-year-old for over a year.
The Magpies have less need for a goalkeeper since Martin Dubravka joined on loan from Sparta Prague in January and has proven himself a wonderful option between the posts.
Nevertheless, it would appear as if the United boss also has eyes for Areola, as France Football report that Benitez has contacted the Frenchman on ‘several occasion’ about a move to St James’s Park.

CIES, Football Observatory value Areola – who played 41 Ligue 1 and Champions League games this season, but lost his place to Kevin Trapp in recent weeks – at around £14 million.
It’s no secret that Newcastle aren’t the biggest spending Premier League club, and probably won’t be again this summer if the former Liverpool boss is denied a sizeable budget by Mike Ashley, so it remains to be seen if United can even afford what PSG may ask for him.
