Newcastle will reportedly tell Napoli that Aleksandar Mitrovic is not for sale.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United will refuse to sell striker Aleksandar Mitrovic during the January transfer window, with Napoli believed to be keen.
The Magpies continue to obliterate the Championship, as Saturday’s 2-1 win over Cardiff City mean it’s now seven straight league wins for Rafael Benitez’s men, and it doesn’t look like many teams will be able to compete with Newcastle this season.
Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic
Newcastle’s hopes of achieving instant promotion back to the Premier League will be boosted if they can keep hold of their star players during the January transfer window, and reports suggest that one player is attracting major interest.
The Mirror note that Champions League side Napoli are keen to snap up Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, given that their star goalscorer Arkadiusz Milik is out with a long-term knee injury.

Mitrovic, 22, started the season behind Dwight Gayle in Benitez’s pecking order, but has notched four goals and one assist in his last three games, and remains a cult hero at St. James’ Park thanks to his superb relationship with the Newcastle fans.
It’s stated that Napoli are preparing a January bid of £18m for Mitrovic, but they are likely to receive a blunt response from Newcastle should they make any move for the Serbian international hitman.

The Chronicle report that Newcastle have no intention of selling Mitrovic, and will tell any interested club that the burly centre forward is not for sale.
Mitrovic, a 2015 signing from Anderlecht, is also claimed to be happy at St. James’ Park, meaning that whilst Napoli could offer Champions League football to Mitrovic, a move to Italy may not be on the cards.
