Newcastle United are reportedly looking to bring in a number of players.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United scout Steve Nickson is working on new signings, and the Magpies are looking to sign two players from Ligue 1 and one from La Liga.
The Magpies have tied up one deal since the end of the Premier League season, snapping up loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a permanent basis from Sparta Prague.
Even after a top 10 finish, Newcastle need a number of new signings, but there is a sense that they will once again be slow out of the blocks, just as they have been in recent transfer windows.

Now, The Chronicle report that scout Steve Nickson is working on deals, and Newcastle are currently wanting two players in Ligue 1 and another from La Liga.
Their identities are currently unknown, but manager Rafael Benitez will be keen to get signings secured sooner rather than later as he looks for backing from owner Mike Ashley.
In terms of signings from France, many Newcastle fans will be terrified at the prospect of Ligue 1 players arriving, given the records of Magpies flops such as Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Florian Thauvin and Emmanuel Riviere.

Recent reports from TEAMtalk claimed that Newcastle want Lyon forward Jean-Phillipe Mateta, and he could well be one of the players eyed for a move to Tyneside this summer.
In terms of the player from La Liga, Benitez will have eyes and ears all around his homeland, though fans will be hoping for better than his last trio of Spanish signings, with Javi Manquillo, Mikel Merino and Joselu making little impact.
